Changes
Well, I didn’t really plan on doing a lot to this bike right away. I just wanted a few “comfort features.” I’m still not planning on doing anything to the engine anytime soon. So starting out, the crucial planned purchases for 2012 include:
- Standard shift lever ($20) installed
- Will sell heal-toe shifter once standard shifter is installed
- Tires
- Bridgestone Exedra Max rear (240/55-16) and G701 front (150/80-17), $286 from BikeBandit.com with my AMA discount, acquired
- Will have mounted up at my dealership in Missoula (appt. 3/31)
- Windvest Installed
- New screen, 14×16″ clear ($40, ebay)
- Using newer/nicer 14″ bracket from the Americas
- Will sell factory summer screen (high-speed helmet buffeting)
- Eastern Beaver H4 relay kit with lo-beam cut out switch acquired
- The switch will go in the factory fog light switch housing in the spot reserved for heated grips.
Performance items for some later date, maybe 2013:
- Triumph OffRoad (TOR) mufflers, A9608060 (looking for good deal on used), with Cat-delete, either Staintune or D&D preferred over Triumph
- GiPro w/ATRE (I’m not 100% sure I need this)
- K&N air filter ($65) (maybe triples on the side later)
- Power Commander 5 with AutoTune (I’m not 100% sure I need this until I make serious mods)
- OBD II VAG cable, Tune ECU and Power-Tripp map (free) acquired
- I will be uploading a custom map this year to better optimize what I have, but that’s all free
Other Accessories Installed:
- Throttlemeister cruise control, polished, heavy ($140, British-customs.com) , (left side screw stripped, will have dealer fix)
- Clear turn signal lenses (~$35, Newspeedmaster)
- Triumph Tank protector (installed) and kneepads ($85, MADSS) acquired–need it to warm up again outside to install kneepads
- Factory Dual Tour seat with drivers backrest, used ($318 [$540 new])
- Headlight visors (ebay, $15)
- Kruzer Kaddy Cup holder, chrome (Amazon, $40)
Acquired Accessories:
- License plate cleanup bracket ($
7029, ebay), (install more involved than expected–low priority) - Rivco pull-back risers ($148, Fast Eddy)
- Hagon Nitro Shocks, silver billet bits, HD spring rates, half-inch shorter than stock (R3owners.net group buy with Power-Tripp.com, about 20% off)
- Progressive fork springs with custom spacers ($89 and $20, respectively, Power-Tripp.com) will have dealership install
Want List:
- Eastern Beaver accessory fuse box, 8 position, for wiring up:
- headlight relays
- future tankbag power
- future horn relay harness
- future Powerlet accessory socket
- battery tender harness
- Flipmeister wire clamps (4)
- Flipmeister brake line clamps (2)
- King of Fleece waterproof seatcover
- Stebel Air Horn, chrome
- Factory clock and gas gauge ($200 ea, probably MADSS if not used)
- SW-Motech Engage tank bag with electric quick release tank ring and GPS mount
Parts For Sale
- Triumph Summer Windshield, no hardware or fixing kit
- Triumph Heel-Toe Shifter, including shouldered bolt and bushing, normally comes with the factory footboard kit
- 2007 Classic Touring 2-up seat
