Now THAT’S What I’m Talkin’ About

If and when I acquire a Rocket III, it’s going to look just like this one, with the black engine, black paint and all the “Corbin Touring Model” (as I like to call it) goodies:

Triumph Rocket III

I swear the Rocket III is going to be my next bike, unless the rumored 1500cc Triumph Thunderbird cruiser, bridging the gap between the 865cc America/Speedmaster and the 2300cc Rocket III, comes out and looks badass. The R3 I buy will be all black – blacked out engine and black paint. Darth Vader’s personal ride.

Triumph Rocket III

The only question is whether they’ll come out with an R3 touring model, and how much it will be. The base Rocket retails for $15k. Corbin saddlebags are $1500. Corbin solo seat is $500. I’m not sold on the new Corbin fairing, but it runs $1200. Might just go for a windvest instead for $330. Exhaust system, K&N airfilter(s), floorboards… ::sigh:: Probably looking at $20k by the time it’s all set up.

Hmmm, I should probably buy a new car instead…

Who says the Rocket III isn’t nimble?

Here’s a video of a guy performing stunts on the 2300cc Triumph Rocket III. Some people think it’s not very nimble because it’s so big. I’ve ridden one and it’s almost as maneuverable as my Bonneville America. This will probably be my next bike in a few years, unless they come out with a 1500cc cruiser to bridge the gap between the America and the Rocket III.
